Dekkera and Brussels Beer City are teaming up to challenge your beer senses.
Do you trust your tastebuds? Can you spot an off flavour from just a sniff of beer? Or are you not able to tell your isoamly acetate from your acetaldehyde?
At the event, we will split you up into small groups (2-3 people per group). Over the course of two flights, you will be served 10 beers that have been adulterated with a beer off flavour or an essential beer flavour. Using your sensory skills, you will have to identify what’s been put in the beer that shouldn’t be there – and bonus points if you can tell us why!
Once the game is out of the way, we’ll give you a quick rundown of what the flavours were, how to spot them, and why they can end up in your beer.
